We have been going to Dr. Tiede for 11 years. We’ve been through cavities, extractions, and now braces. My children have received nothing but the best of care in all of these situations. Dr. Tiede is amazing. She goes above and beyond, treating her patients with respect, love and kindness. She takes extra time to educate both the child and parent about what is going to happen in detailed length, answering questions and calming fears. Her expertise makes her one of the best dentists in Missoula.
I would like to comment on a review that was posted regarding treatment at Missoula Pediatric Dentistry. Treatment is never completed in our clinic without first discussing the treatment with the parent and then having them sign a consent for treatment. Also in regards to the use of formaldehyde; a derivative is used in a dental product called formocresol which has never been used at Missoula Pediatric Dentistry.
I love this place but recently I had to reschedule my child's first appointment due to our clutch went out and had that replaced by the next day and then on our second appointment my child woke up puking which I wasn't exposing her to other people and she was having a tooth extracted on this appointment so I was told she would have to be seen on a walk in basis now!!! I'm very upset that circumstances beyond my control happened and my child had to pay the consequences which isn't fair to my child what so ever!!! Oh and we don't live within the city we are 15 miles out. Thank you
The office setting is fantastic, and for the most part the staff is great and very nice. However, we will be switching dentists after 6 years because we have had enough of their questionable billing practices.
I LOVED this office, the hygentist, and the assistants are exceptional. However, due to a recent visit we will never go back. I was told my daughter who had cavities treated prior needed more fillings. No big deal, went in to have her 2 cavities filled. Long story short, a pulpotomy was done WITHOUT my approval or signature or even discussion about. I am sure it was (in their eyes) certain that someone had apprised me of the situation and it was an honest mistake. However, when I saw her stainless steel cap on her tooth I almost passed out. The hygentist that day did not even tell me what was going on, let alone Dr. Tiede. We usually see Dr. Foster. The only reason I am writing a review is because I want to warn other Missoula parents whose children may go to their office. I loved their office until this day and now have no choice but have had my daughter exposed to dangerous chemicals such as formaldehyde. I would not write this if it was handled professional but Dr. Tiede was very rude that it was explained to me. We are now looking into our legal options.
They have a very kid friendly setting and the people are nice. But we have had a number of incidents that have led us to make a change. My son has had four fillings over the past 6 years with Dr. Tiede and three of them have fallen out. Dr. Tiede apologized this last time, but said that it was most likely due to inadequate flossing and refused to cover it under warranty. As with all of his other fillings, Dr. Tiede has a way of turning 1 filling into 2 by stating that it was touching the adjacent tooth so they need to do both. In other words, same amount of time they just charge for two. He's had 4 cavities and we've paid for 10 fillings due to the double billing and falling out. My son religiously flosses every single night, how many 9 year old kids do that? I would also warn people to check their billing statement every time for questionable charges. They have repeatedly charged us for procedures not actually completed. When we question them, they wait until after insurance has processed to make an adjustment. Also, every time we go they charge a $29 fee for a "facial image." This is just a photo of the child to put in their folder!!! Every time we tell them that we're not paying $29 for a picture (we can bring one if they need) and every time they credit it (of course after insurance pays a portion). I'm betting most people don't question that charge.
