The staff was fantastic, very pleasant. The wait was not too long, but an appointment is definitely helpful. Please be patient, they get to you as soon as they can.
Even among DMV offices - which nobody expects much of in terms of efficiency - this location is a star among their peers. They have an online bot which points you to an online scheduling tool: their online scheduling tool has a bug that wipes all entries so you can't proceed. You call them instead and are on hold for an hour or more. You go in person only to find that they stop taking walk ins at 4 PM - 30 min before their 4:30 closing. It may be faster to catch a plane out of MSO to another DMV location.
Went in right when they opened and still had to wait an hour because I was a walk in. Moral of the story: get an appointment. If you don't, that's your own fault and expect to pay for that. Considering my mistake, it went pretty well. Everyone was professional, polite, and efficient.
