We think you should think twice before dropping your hard earned money there. Not a good value by any stretch and the food is nothing special and of course you could get a really disappointing inedible plate presented to you. Try one of the other places in town and don't get embarrassed if you take out of town guest here thinking they will love it!
that they did the right thing but we would have happily paid for a great meal!
almost finished eating by then and did not have
First the the food was sub par...She ordered a steak and the cut of meat was pretty pathetic for the price. She had to send it back once, since apparently med-rare is a hard temp to hit for for their kitchen. I had the pizza, nothing special, could have easily over looked how bland and generic it tasted...
Came into town over the weekend for a late anniversary dinner and was hoping for a great dinner.
a desire for any more of the food. I would like to add that these entries come with a potato or vegetable only not both. No salad included. The presentation is lacking! The salads are nothing special. Not worth the price. We have no confidence and will not return to the depot!
All of the food was mediocre and of 4 entries one was actually inedible. The $36 prime rib was inedible. It was not prime rib! Couldn't cut or chew through it. Did not even look like a slice of prime rib. The seafood pasta was mediocre in taste. The yellow fin tuna was so so. The chicken teriyaki was good but the portion was small. The waitress apologized and took the prime rib off of the bill as she could see it was not eaten. She asked if she could bring something else but we had all
The amazing part of this place is the absolute laziness of the servers there. It was like a huddled mass of work ethic kryptonite. We had the best conversation this the patrons next to us...a guessing game of sorts, on who was actually gonna ignore thier table the longest.
Showed up just before kitchen closed and the staff was more than accommodating. Had the prime rib sandwich and the Alaska king crab. Both arrived fast and were amazing. Would highly recommend to anyone.
Really unhappy with the entire meal. Grateful
Last night we brought our friends from NY for dinner for the last night of their visit. We know the depot is a nice place and not inexpensive
but we wanted to treat them to something special. We were prepared to pay.
Watching what was obviously the manager, walk past them over and over, while scrambling to help other employees was frustrating to say the least. I couldn't imagine being the person that signed thier paychecks, while knowing how completely incompetent they were at thier job. And if not incompetent, then just stealing from the owners, since they obviously have no intention of doing thier job.
Pretty easy to say that the next time we are in town. If we are in the mood for mediocre food and terrible service, I'm pretty sure we can find it for a fraction of that this place was.
Nice comfy place with well prepared food and great atmosphere
The food was so good! After being in Missoula for years, I finally went to The Depot with some colleagues for dinner. The dining area is very traditional and almost a bit formal. The menu has quite a selection, and the desserts are very rich. There was a nice bar/deck area when I entered, but I did not spend any time here. I would certainly consider coming back, especially to enjoy the deck during the warm summer months.
