Bottom-line: the best dentist should be examining your mouth (teeth, gums, jaw) as a holistic entity and directing you to further assessment/care as needed (much like your primary care doctor would for medical issues requiring more expertise than their own).
Almost 10 years later, I've been diagnosed with TMD/TMJ and a year ago I didn't even know what that was. The left side of my jaw has distorted/repositioned itself so as to be 50% closer to my teeth than before/the other (normal) side is. Best case scenario with treatment: my bite is corrected, the jaw doesn't weaken any further and I have minor infrequent pain for the rest of my life.
I've trusted my dental care to Dr. Lori and team for 15 years now - and my entire family gets all our dental care at Twin Cranes. We love the staff and the personal care. The dentists are all top notch with excellent training and chair-side manner. I guess the only thing I can say I don't like about Twin Cranes is that I have to do that dang mouth swish for so long! Highly recommend Dr. Lori Alecksic
My lower teeth had crowded quickly after having my original braces removed, my bite was always slightly off (couldn't connect both sides of my teeth at once), and I had a dramatic pop on the left-side of my jaw when opening/closing which I communicated had "been around as long as I can remember." I accepted this as the norm, because I did not know any better and at the time it did not cause me pain.
This is the best dental office I've ever been to. They are helpful, GENTLE, and their prices are reasonable. They get the work done while trying to keep the visits to a minimum. Bravo!
We have received wonderful care and my kids love seeing Dr. Lori!
Great staff and Dr Goroski was amazing!
Most dentists don't deserve a 5-star rating and Twin Cranes is no different. I found the dentists' manners fairly superficial at the time and consider the attention to their patients physical well-being lacking in some areas now. Not an easy job, but some of us really depend on higher standards. Here's hoping the dental community pursues greater quality in its care.
I know that awareness for this condition is improving, but the screening has to start with the observations of a dentist during routine check-ups. I wish that my dentist had raised a red-flag 10-15 years ago, further examined my jaw, and mentioned additional methods of diagnosis/potential referral. Even if they had to tell me that my insurance wouldn't cover it, at least I would know what orthodontic issues to be on the lookout for/to monitor in myself.
My teeth were cleaned and a pair of cavities filled over 5 years, no complaints there. However, I never connected with the dentists at Twin Cranes and found their concern for my orthodontics trivial, hinging around "you should get braces again, because straight teeth are easier to clean." Although I can understand their interest in good dental hygiene, they overlooked indicators of a much bigger problem.
They are awesome at Twin Crains dental
