First off their prices are fantastic. I've taken a cat and three dogs to this facility. To spay, vaccinate, and microchip the cat it was around 200 dollars which is what it is to just spay the poor thing at other clinics. The dogs? Well two where aggressive because of anxiety and these guys microchipped and vaccinated these animals before they knew what happened. The third dog has had to show up more than once for kidney infection, diarrhea, and getting into a spat with another dog that ended in his mouth getting a small cut (he is also the one pictured below). This white fluff ball loves these guys (until the thermometer comes out). Never have I seen such a qualified and caring staff in my life. They don't care about money because they're there for the ANIMALS and nothing else.Had another friend think her cat was going to lose all of its teeth only to have these guys flip it and the kitty got to keep most of them. These guys are miracle workers and everyone who has gone through these guys that I know of love them.
I live in the Mission Valley and I have had several emergencies with my one of my goats. NONE of the vets in my area even called me back over the years. Dr Rollett did 2 emergency surgeries on my goat at the drop a hat as did Dr Fergusen, who also saw my goat at all hours of the night for several nights when we needed help. These are the only folks I know I can count on to help. They are busy but they have never not made time for my animals when they need help. It is no small task and the community is lucky to have such dedicated people.
My puppy: Jazzi just loves it at Blue Mountain Veterinary, since she's stayed there twice for our vacations. She loves the staff there, and has grown to be very comfortable with them, because of her extended stays. She's been spayed, had her shots there, has had some illnesses treated there too, and each and every time the staff was very kind to her, and loved her spunky cuteness. I went to another vet, to which was very expensive for me, and Blue Mountain really does care about the animals more than profit; there prices are very reasonable! There medical care for animals is bar-non as far as I'm concerned. Thank you Blue Mountain Veterinary! : )
Dr Pruyn did routine cherry eye surgery, cleared my puppy to go to our home in Maine. Our local veterinary ophthamologist was appalled. My bills were over $2600 to try to save her eye and vision. Mostly successful, but some vision loss and permanent scarring. Dr. Pruyn left a 1 and 1/2 inch suture in her eye and it was of a much thicker diameter than recommended. He had zero response to my emails and phone call. I do not want any other puppy to go through this pain. Please avoid this office ! I will be contacting the Veterinary Board as well. Amazingly unprofessional to not even acknowledge what he did.
We have taken our dogs there and find the staff to be compassionate and upfront about any concerns we have. Blue Mountain Vets return calls we've had; even made house calls ... the ladies at the front desk are friendly and handle billing promptly. As long as we have pets - this is where we feel comfortable taking them.
