Despite our flight coming in after closing, Bill stayed late, picked us up in the Element, then let us test drive it without him in the vehicle even! It took us 30 minutes from beginning to end once we got back to the dealership.
I have known the owners of Missoula Car and Truck for years. I have purchased several vehicles from them and you will never find a friendlier, more knowledgeable group of guys. Most used car guys are just looking for the sale. Not these guys! They are looking to give you a great experience and will take care of anything that happens off the lot within reason. We also asked them to sell my grandfathers pickup (beautiful Dodge Ram diesel) for his estate. It lost the transmission shortly after it was purchased and they did the right thing asking us to help pay for a new transmission...and even split the cost with us! Who does that anymore? Most places would say "too bad, it is a used car!"
We bought who vehicles here, a car and a truck. The sales person went out of his way to help us, and make sure the process was as painless as possible. The truck is great; it IS used and has its quirks, will probably need some work sometime this winter but over all we are REALLY happy with it; it's exactly what we needed and is exactly what we expected. The car, on the other hand, had some major trouble and long story short, needed a new engine less than three days after purchasing. (Timing chain....OUCH). Now, it's important to understand that had I done my due diligence it's possible I may have avoided a really expensive repair, and a five hundred mile return trip to go back for it next week. I also understand the law around these things; they could have said well sorry for your luck. They didn't. They were extremely helpful, and followed through promptly with resolution. Did it cover the entire repair? No. But under the circumstances I feel it was generous compensation given the issue. As unhappy as I am that my car is still in South Dakota, I am very happy with the truck and the customer service. Its appreciated!!
Today, I took her to a wonderful mechanic to inspect my recent purchase and it was one of the best used cars he's since in recent time.
We took an impromptu trip to Montana to buy a 2010 Honda Element. I could not have been happier with the service. The entire process was surreal. We missed our first flight, and it was super stressful basically buying a car sight unseen. However, I could not say enough good things about the whole process.
A couple of weeks ago I found a car on their lot that I loved and took it for a drive and I had to have it. The salesman was super nice and very relaxed which was so refreshing after all the annoying ones we had met throughout the day and was super quick with processing the loan. The car was also detailed to perfection. The service was great but the reason why I gave them 3 stars is that when I brought the car home the gas light was on and I was afraid I might not even make it home with how little gas was in it. Upon further inspection at home the oil was dangerously low and coolant was almost nonexistent in the overfill tank. I understand that those things cost money but that really left a bad taste in my mouth that they would allow a car to be driven with that low of fluids and would risk someone blowing up their newly purchased car.
They gave me an offer on my truck awhile back. I wasn't ready to sell. When I went there to see there offer through. They said they don't buy my type of truck... Interesting?!?
