We moved from Montana in 2014 and had all of our mail forwarded to our new address in Colorado. We received a late payment bill shortly after moving, so I called their office. Their billing department was extremely rude and very difficult to work with but were able to pay the bill in full. We have had to be in contact with their office regarding medical records and switching to a new doctor since the move and at no time since we paid the bill in full did their office ever contact us again, even though they knew our new address and phone numbers.
We got a letter from Experian saying we had a negative mark on our credit. So, we pulled our credit report and found that The Allergy and Asthma Center (Dr. Mangold's office) was responsible for this negative mark on our credit.
This billing department is UNETHICAL. I would say that they were just inept, but their actions go well beyond just being unskilled. This was deliberate and it was unethical. And we will fight this!
We never received a new bill saying we owed more money. We never got a phone call. Nothing. Only a year later we get sent to collections. When we called them to find out why they never sent us a bill when they clearly had our address and phone number, they said "It's in collections now I can't help you" and hung up.
The medical services provided were sub-par at best, but since it's a small place, you settle for what is available. Thank God we moved someplace where we can get QUALITY care and are not subject to the damaging neglect of their office staff who cannot even properly handle retrieving payment for a bill less than $100. Alllll the trouble they went to, to send this to collections when they could have just billed us and it would have been paid immediately.
RIDICULOUS.
