To say I was shocked and appalled would be an understatement. After talking to Cathleen in patient accounts she helped me get an appointment with Dr. Whitting. Done deal right?!

If you want to know what cattle feels like, then come here. Otherwise find another office. From the moment of entering (15 minutes early per letter) there was a sense of urgency and rush. Once completing my paperwork (in five minutes) I proceeded to wait for 45 minutes after my appointment time. Once placed into an exam room, I waited for another ten minutes before being examined. That exam took all of 5 minutes and was rushed to the point that I felt like I was not listened to. Once sent to the checkout desk I could hear my doctor dictating my exam into his recorder while walking through the hallway. This was the most impersonal doctor visit I have ever had. I don't recommend anyone to this office. This is a prime example of an doctor office geared toward quantity, rather than quality.

I got a phone call the next day from Cathleen that Dr. Whitting doesn't accept my insurance so they are going to have to cancel my appointment.

WRONG!

Stainer is one of the best surgeons!

1. This is an entire practice of which at least 2/3rds of the doctors take my insurance, so just get me in with someone else right?

Dr. Stayner is A+ in my book! I had two shoulders with torn rotators, ligaments and bad arthritis pain. He performed surgery on both using three very small incisions on each shoulder. My shoulders no longer pop out of the sockets, and I only have minor arthritic pain. He was excellent, and so was the staff at N.R.O. and Big Sky Surgery Center.

Well apparently according to Cathleen no one in their practice will see me (even the Ortho's who are contracted) because they are not specialists in where I am injured, she specifically mentioned talking to Dr. Staynar. This tells me that in almost a decade of med school they only learned to read x-rays for ONE area of the body. This should scare anyone!! Cathleen's advice since they won't be seeing me is, "can't you just call the ER (in a DIFFERENT CITY) and get them to refer you somewhere?

I had heard good things about the doctors here so when I suffered a crush injury and needed to see an Ortho this seemed like a no brainer. After trying to get an appointment all I can say is I still don't have an appointment and my brain HURTS. This practice isn't in the business of helping and healing people. They want the MONEY and they want it upfront!

Dr Stayner did a Meniscectomy on my right knee about ten years ago. Last month I turned 67. Last week I finished the Missoula Marathon. Practically the only thing that DIDN'T hurt during the race was my knee. He's very fast, gets in and out quickly with little blood vessel damage, I was able to recover quickly and get back to running. Also very friendly, patient-focused, and a close and patient listener.

To say I cancelled and started making phone calls would be an understatement. I wasted two hours on a greedy practice that apparently only wanted the $250 "deposit" Steer clear of this place! There are plenty of practices in this town that still care about helping people when they are in the midst of scary and painful situations.

Let us start when I tried to make an appointment, after giving my basic info (name, birth date, address, injury who my insurance provider is etc) I was asked for my specific insurance info. OK, not a big deal, except my insurance company uses an electronic card. IE it's an app on my phone, that I'm talking on so I can't access it this second. I would be happy to provide it at the time of my appointment or after I get one made and can call back. The answer was "we need your insurance info, or a $250 deposit BEFORE we will schedule, I'll need your credit card to go any further"

2. I HAVE insurance so my insurance will still pay 50% rather then the 80% if this Dr. was contracted. I still don't see an issue.

Please keep in mind:

He did an awesome job on my shoulder!
