"Urgent" Care is a Joke. I had a family member in emotional and psychological crisis. He was seen at St. Pat's ER with a referral to see someone at Providence. The so-called urgent care consists of a voicemail greeting instructing patients to leave a message and someone will get back to them by the end of the business day (which they did not, though they were contacted before noon). When someone is in crisis and needs help, it is ridiculous that you are not available to them immediately or at least sooner than the end of the business day. You are dealing with people in crisis, some of whom want to end their life. A voicemail system is not the way to help. It hinders and leaves people feeling validated that no one cares. This system needs to be changed. Edit: Day 2, no call back, after leaving another message, two actually. Urgent: ur·gent ˈərjənt adjective

I saw Joyce Zaransky here and had a very positive experience. I had seen a private psychiatrist beforehand and had a horrible experience. I was misdiagnosed and given medication that essentially ruined my life for about 6 months and made me totally nonfunctional. Then I came to Joyce and she was very helpful. She listened to my experience, was kind and understanding. She got me on the right meds that got me to a much much better position in life. I would highly recommend seeing her. For anyone who is concerned with the fact that she is a physicians assistant, don't be. They told me she has years of experience treating mental health cases and it shows. The care was SO much better than what I got from an actually psychiatrist.

Great experience, great care

If you are suffering because of mental health problems, I highly highly recommend Joyce Zaransky.
