The shower curtain was covered in mold. The toilet was poorly cleaned and I ended up wiping it down myself.
I didn't have any reservations when I showed up. The staff checked various rooms to make sure they were ready for someone to use. They explained the property had just recently been purchased and the owner was in the process of upgrading the entire facility. The staff was very friendly and courteous, but the facilities do need work. The hotel was right downtown and within walking distance of a few different restaurants and pubs.
1 Star is too 1 too many. We often stay in budget hotels, usually everything is great. This place is one of the worst we've ever stayed in. There was no TV, the wifi was virtually non-existent and there was fungus in the shower. I will say the sheets were clean and smelled clean, but that's the only nice thing we can say. We were told they would refund part of our payment for the lack of TV. Haven't seen that. When my husband complained about the conditions at checkout, he was told many had complained. She said she had no authority to make it right.
The place could use a major remodel, both the hall and in the room. The ceiling is a bit rough, the lights were a bit dim, and the drywall tape can be seen through the paint. It might be a bit rough, but the bed was comfortable, the room was clean, TV and AC worked, and the facilities worked great. The staff was friendly and efficient. The place was close to the interstate, restaurants, and bars. If you're going to a show at the ampatheter, the Top Hat is close by and provides a shuttle service. In the end, the room is cheep and it looks like it, but the room was clean, comfortable, and in a great location.
I was expecting to enter a divey hotel but this place was the nastiest hotel I have visited since the time I spent in Africa. The elevator floor was covered in dirty, sticky gunk that made it obvious that the floor hadn't been mopped in weeks. The hallways smelled like smoke and were incredibly dingy. Once inside the room we were missing a curtain panel so the window wasn't fully covered. The remote didn't work. The wallpaper was peeling off. The carpet was so disgusting I kept my shoes on at all times. I pulled back the blankets and my sheets had a huge yellow stain. I went down to get new sheets (since the phone doesn't connect you to the lobby) and when I got back my key no longer worked. Thankfully my boyfriend was inside to let me back in.
I would like to start off saying that it has a great location and it was clean. That's about where it stops. I've never stayed at a motel that costs so much and turned out being so ghetto. That's the best words to describe this place. The toilet seat looked like it was 40 years old along with the cheap patio chairs. The beds sat on a plywood box and weren't very comfortable. The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is because even with how crappy everything was it was still clean. Also, if it was half the price I wouldn't complain as much.
I could go on and on. This hotel was just disgusting and this is all after the "change in management" and "upgrades". I would not recommend it to anyone. Just sleep in your car.
