My husband ordered the chicken fried steak and he was upset to learn that they don't offer mashed potatoes any longer. Since the two marry perfectly, he felt like the plate was missing them. He was also not thrilled with the steak he did get. I got a sirloin with a bacon & blue sauce that was just awful. Overcooked chewy bacon and melted blue cheese in a heaping of what tasted like thickened and cooked A1 sauce that made the steak nearly inedible. I'm no chef, but highlight the fresh blue cheese and add bits of thin sliced chopped bacon. If you must, add a light drizzle of sauce - but don't drown the steak in it. Let the steak shine on it's own; it's the majority of what I'm paying for after all...

We live in Missoula, and we usually enjoy the little escape out of the city to visit the Buck Snort, but this last time (7/2/2017) was much less than impressive. While the atmosphere is fun, quirky and comforting, and the service is friendly, the food this last visit just really disappointed us and was overpriced for what we received.

My mom, my sister and I went to the Buck Snort for dinner one night. Walking in, it was warm and inviting. When I looked at the menu, I was hesitant because of the prices. I personally ordered the Big Buck Burger, and we all shared an order if the mozzarella sticks. Omg.....amazing. the mozzarella sticks are made by hand, and are absolutely to die for. Then my burger came. Not only was it a huge amount of food, it was so. Freaking. Good. Definitely worth the time, and at most, a couple extra bucks, to eat here. The service was just as great. Thank you so much!

George is a great server/bartender! He really took care of us. Food and service can be inconsistent. When it's on, 5 stars! Sometimes it can be disappointing though. Sunday brunch, and the bacon explosion are highly recommended.

Love this place. Quiet enough you can talk to the people you are with. A little rustic so you can dress however. The food is awesome. Caesar salad is good, clams with white wine garlic sauce delicious. Get extra bread for the sauce. And I love the steak Diane. Medium rare.

I am disappointed; I don't think we'll be back to the Buck Snort again anytime soon.

Great food if you want just main dishes. Pasta and pasta side dishes aren't available. Not a noodle in sight. Very expensive for what you get.
