I've been going to Brian's Auto for 13yrs! Never have I been charged for something I didn't need & they have been very honest about telling me so!! I love you guys! Thank you for your time & experience!!! Hugs!
When a business is donating or reducing a price of service as a discount, they become very busy!! Like any business you have to keep those discounts to a minimum each day/week to get in other money-making vehicles that pay to have their vehicles done so they can stay in business to offer YOU free or discounted services! You shouldn't be so ungrateful and bash a respectable business!!!
Side note: someone had clearly ransacked my car while it was in their lot (stuff was thrown everywhere, back seats were ripped out of place and overturned), so note that their location is not secure. They also didn't care that this happened.

No beating around the bush, they will tell you what's wrong and what they would do to fix it. A refreshing change to today's sell, sell, sell set mindset.
I went to Brian's when my car wouldn't start; the key would turn in the ignition with no sound or response of any kind. I was told it was a security issue and that it was probably because someone had tried to start it with the wrong key, since the one made by the manufacturer had a special chip in it. They said they reset the security, charged me something like $120, and said it was fixed and to make sure I was using the original key. I called around to three different dealerships to see if they could make me another key with that chip so I'd have a backup, and they all insisted no such chip exists for my model of car (2004 Oldsmobile Alero). Not only that, but several weeks later, the exact same problem occurred. With just a few minutes of googling, I found out that if you leave the key in the "on" position for 10 minutes, take it out, then attempt to start, the car will start and it will be temporarily fixed, although the problem will re-occur a few weeks later. Sure enough, that worked. I then got a postcard in the mail a bit later stating Oldsmobile was recalling that part due to this defect. I called Brian's to complain, since what they did did not fix my issue, they gave me incorrect information regarding the cause of the problem, and there's absolutely no way I could know that they didn't just put the key in for 10 minutes. They insisted they had to go in and flush the security, even though a totally car-illiterate person like myself could find this other solution easily, and mentioned nothing about their misinformation. At no point did they apologize or offer any recompense for the problem which they absolutely did not fix. They simply told me I should go get the recalled part fixed elsewhere. As someone who has worked in customer service for years, I would absolutely consider this horrible customer service. Will NOT go again; would NOT recommend.
I purchased a car care card for many free and reduced price services at Brian's Auto. When I called to make an appointment to get my oil changed I was told they couldn't get it in for three and a half months. I called back later that day to ask if they could replace an alternator (not a service on that card) I was told they could get it in that day! I WOULD NOT recommend Brian's Sketchy Auto Repair to anyone.
Prices are fair. The work done is awesome. And Ernie is damn well the best mechanic around!
